I performed all of the steps you provided. The Data Types area of the Data tab is blank

Here is the version I am using. Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2202 Build 16.0.14931.20704) 64-bit

    Dear Paula (L),

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

It seems that the Data type (Stocks/Geography) feature is missing in the Data tab of your Excel application but this feature visible couple of weeks ago. May I know if my understand is correct?

First please allow me to mentioned the Conditions for the Stocks feature in the Excel application are:

     a. Need to be an Office 365 Subscriber.

    b. Editing Language should set to English.

    c. Need to sign into Office application with your Office 365 account.

Per your description it seem you’re having Office 365 subscription and signed with the same account in Office applications, can we know whether the editing language is set to English. If yes and the feature is missing, we request you try the following:

    1. Check whether Data Types are enabled or added in the Data Tab.

For doing it: Open Excel application> File> Options> Customize Ribbon> Under Customize the Ribbon, select the Main Tabs> Click on + symbol beside the Data> check whether Data Types is present or not.

If the Data Types is not present, check whether Data Types is present under Choose commands from. (Select All Commands under Choose commands from). If yes, add them to the new group and check whether you can use it.

If the above doesn’t work, we suggest you try to Excel application in Safe Mode and check whether you can see them.

If still, you can’t see them, Online repair your Office applications.

In the meantime, I can’t reproduce the same problem and to confirm whether this is a bug in a specific version, please provide us the version information. To check version: Open Excel>File>Account>Product Information and capture a full screenshot and share here and we will be tested on that version and verify the result with you.

Also, please upload a screenshot of your Data tab for our reference, so we can understand your exact scenario and provide our suggestion in a productive manner, perhaps some related screenshots will be helpful.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad

    Hi Paula (L),

Thanks for your understanding and patience and I appreciate your kind words.

I just tested on same version, and it seems that I can see Geography and Stocks Feature under Data Types in Excel. Here is screenshot for your reference:

    Image

First, please try to logged -out from all account in Excel app and then signed in again to check if there is any difference (sometime its help in this way).

Alos, go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings>In that interface, check boxes for "Turn on optional connected experiences " and quit the Excel app completely and then open Ecel app again to check if there is any difference.

Since, "The Data Types area of the Data tab is blank" please try go to Excel File>Option>Advance>Under display turn off "Disable hardware graphic acceleration".

Mneawhile, may I confirm, does another user in your organization meet the same behaviour as well? Can you recall when this behavior starts e.g., after Office update or Windows OS.

To check the problem is related with your machine/pc, or Office version, if possible, could you please try to

Change the update channel with the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) to current channel and verify the result with me.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
