How to select (then move) a LOT of OneNote Sections?

I've got several years of OneNote notes in various notebooks. Each meeting is in its own section.

But overall, the list is overwhelming. HIGH time to get organized by creating annual groups.

PROBLEM: I cannot find a way to select then move multiple sections.

AND, doing it one at a time is quite painful: right click on section, move, choose group, but THEN I have to navigate back to the original list because it switches to showing just the section(s) in the group. BLEAH.

What am I missing? How to move multiple sections at once? Or, what view lets me drag-drop directly?

(I've searched online, searched help, tried a wide variety of things without success.)

THANKS!

Pete

    Dear Pete,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, you want to move multiple sections in OneNote on Windows.

Honestly, this feature is not available yet. Other members have already submitted requirements for this feature in this Move multiple sections at once. · Community (microsoft.com) and many members have voted for it. We sincerely hope you and other users who have the same needs can vote for it, the higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay. Many good ideas have been taken in this way. Your voice is also important to us.

I tested it on my side, and the only workaround I could find is that if you use iPhone/iPad, you could sync your notebooks to the device, and then long press a section to select multiple sections, then click the Move/Copy icon to move these sections to the groups you want.

    Appreciate your cooperation in advance.

    Sincerely,
