MS To-Do for IOS Crashing

I have an up-to-date version of To-Do on a 12.9" iPad Pro, it crashes repeatedly after being open ~30 seconds.

I've already completed steps including restarting, clearing caches, uninstall/reinstall the app and still no luck. I think the behavior started after I added a task with particularly long text but I'm not sure. I've cleared out any suspect tasks on other platforms.

I appreciate whatever advice anyone can provide on how to resolve this.

Thanks,

Richard

FWIW, I suspected my issue was related to a task that I'd created with a long URL (OneNote link) in the notes. At least, that was done just prior to the issue cropping up.

I tried deleting the task and other measures to resolve the issue, to no avail. Finally, I deleted every task (after printing the list) and purged the Completed tasks fully, uninstalled/reinstalled the app and recreated my tasks. Issue resolved.

    Hope this helps.

I have tried all of the relevant troubleshooting steps you suggest here through multiple iOS updates and one app update. Plus more.

There is plenty of storage on my phone, over 150 GB. I haven’t done anything like installing a beta version of the To Do app (Ha!) or other ridiculousness. I’m not trying to break things, just use them.

Directly contacting support was a waste of time. My problem was sent to the developers with no response from those developers.

The app works great on my spouse’s phone, though, so well done Microsoft?

    Hi RM W,

I’m Sharon one of the Independent Advisor and I’d be happy to help you out with your question.

The prominent factor behind App crashing
    App not updated
    App not supported
    Device Storage Full
App Service down – due to maintenance time frame
As primary troubleshooting to Fix App Crashing when opening

Tip 1- Force Close And re-open your App
if not work, try to force close all running apps in App-switcher, then try to use the MS Office app only.
in the case again the same issue happens, go to the next clue step-by-step

Tip 2- Force Restart your Device
it Simple easy to restart your Device; if you don’t know how to do it, please comment below.

Hint: – Free up Storage to run an app on your device properly.
Check device storage – Head to Settings App > Tap General > Tap iPad or iPhone Storage > on the screen you can see available storage space. if have is not ample space, please delete some unwanted data or transfer it to another device use Airdrop (from Apple to Apple device) or use Flash drive to transfer data and media to Apple to the non-Apple device, for example – transfer data from iPhone to PC or Android Phone.

Tip 3- You should uninstall and re-install App
Press and hold on to the app icon till the App starts to ziggle and choose to Remove App – Delete App and finally tap Delete.

Now re-install the App from the App Store. Find an App using the top search bar and re-install it by tapping on the down-arrow in cloud icon.

Tip 4 – Check for Software updates on the Device
if any new version appears, then download and install.

head to Settings App > General > Click on Software Update – if any update is showing, please upgrade the firmware using on-screen instructions. [Alternate you can use Finder on Mac and iTunes on Windows PC to update your iDevice software version]

In Some cases, users have installed the Beta version, which is generally try to use early (upcoming software update). Unfortunately, beta iOS or iPadOS and Office App stable app won’t run smoothly cause most of the app developers don’t give support for beta operating system users.

In this case, you must downgrade your Apple device OS from beta to stable firmware.

Tip – 5. Contact App Developers
You should contact the Microsoft office App developer to get further assistance. Here’s the complete guide on how to contact the App developer.
