unlocking a locked section to delete contents

How do I unlock a locked section to allow me to delete a dysfunctional table so I can delete the page. Frustrating

    Tried that. NO restrictions in place or shown under that Tab. When I try to delete the table or page it says in lower left bar, "You can't make that change because the selection is locked."

    The text range could be grouped which (in this context) means the type of protection you can use with content controls (accessible via the Developer tab).

    Since Doug has offered to take a look at your document, you may want to accept his offer. :-)

    Under the Review tab there is a button for Restrict Editing. Click on that and remove the restriction.

    Delete your table.

    Reapply the restriction.
