  • Update my OS to Monterey 12.6

Do someone know which application one drive have trouble communicate with?

    Hi Ives,

I got the same error when I tried to open any Microsoft Office document on my Mac without the OneDrive application running (you can tell if this is the case when the little OneDrive cloud icon(s) do not appear at the top of your screen with your volume icon, wifi icon, etc.).

To fix, I hit command-space to open Spotlight, searched for "Onedrive" and launched the application it found. OneDrive started up, sync'd my files, and then when I tried opening my office documents (eg. in Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc.) they all worked.

    Hello Ives,

    Greetings for the day!

Could you please try following workarounds from your MAC?

    1. Update the out-of-date application #You can complete the update work in App Store on your Mac by following steps: #Launch App Store via Spotlight Search or Home Folder on Mac. Click Updates and select UPDATE on the right side of the application, and your Apple ID is indispensable for some updates.

If you're prompted with a license agreement, please click Agree.

Wait until the process ends and then try OneDrive again.

    2. Update the old macOS version

Click the Apple menu, and select System Preferences in the dropdown menu.

Locate Software Update in the main window of System Preference.

Check if there is any new version of macOS, if there is, click Restart Now button.

Wait for the update to end, then try OneDrive again.

    3. Refresh the account information To update the Mac admin account, you can click the Apple menu > Log out > Enter your account password to log in. If you're so unlucky that you forget the Mac password, then you need to recover it back for further action.
    4. Safe boot the machine

On your Mac, choose Apple menu > Shut Down.

Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.

Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.

      Select a volume.

Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.

The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.
