Powerpoint will not open some .pptx files

Hello,

Powerpoint will not open some files. One I downloaded from brightspace which was transferred from blackboard and another was a pdf from b or bb which I exported to a .pptx in WPS.

This is the message I get:

It did now just open the one I downloaded now which is odd.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thank you for help.

PDF is the native format for Adobe Acrobat, not PowerPoint. PowerPoint can't convert every PDF from every source into a presentation.

Please contact Blackboard tech support for problems with files downloaded from their service and WPS tech support for problems with files converted with their software.

    Hello Anonell,

Thank you for coming to the forum and I will be happy to assist in the best way I can.

I like your detailed explanation of how you procured the file, this helps in the troubleshooting.

I think the problem with one of the files will be the conversion, the WPS conversion at times fails to work on other office apps. Try stepping it down a bit to ppt, not pptx, then open that in the PowerPoint. When it opens (or if) then do save as, to save it as pptx.

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind Regards Fuad
