I have 4 paragraphs in my first word document. First paragraph has hanging indent of 2 and second paragraph has first line indent as 1, 3 and 4th paragraphs has negative left and right indentations. I copied first two paragraphs and pasted in another word document. Second paragraph first line indent is removed after pasting

Try, in your source document, adding an extra blank paragraph at the end.

Copy everything, then delete the extra paragraph in both the source and destination.

It is hard to tell from a screen shot, but if the document was created with direct formatting, that is, if paragraph indents and other text formatting were not defined by using paragraph styles, then the very last paragraph of pasted content may revert to the formatting of the Normal style in the target document. You can fix this quickly in the target document by copying paragraph level formatting (Ctrl+Shift+C) and then paste it in the "problem" paragraph (Ctrl+Shift+V). Long-term, you should set up your document with paragraph styles.

Ensure that you include the final paragraph mark when you copy the text paragraphs. (To show/hide paragraph marks, ¶, as well as other nonprinting marks, click the ¶ icon on the Home tab.)

    Does that improve the situation?

If it doesn't, the cause might be a conflict between the formatting in your paragraph style and the corresponding style in the target document.

    Thanks, and regards

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

I cannot be able to reproduce this again. It happened twice. I will post again, if I get the clear steps.

My source document looks like this. My Target document is empty document. I tried to paste in new word document and my in custom Telerik application. In both places it behaved in the similar way (Meas I have seen the issue in both places, even in my source code observed the firstline indent as 0 instead of 1).
