Converting Microsoft Word to Google Docs

Converted documents are always going to be problematic.

This is because there is never a 1:1 correspondence of features and methods.

To answer this is going to require someone with a fair amount of knowledge of both programs. I have no knowledge of Google docs other than seeing complaints here about mangled formatting.

My client wants me to create a complex template for him that could be used in Google Docs too without losing any formatting. While I can create the Template in Word I am having problems with making it compatible with Google Docs.

Unfortunately it doesn’t state which templates are compatible, just provides a general answer of yes that they’re compatible.

Thank you very much Tim for your responding to my question.

I used the method as described on the link page before asking this question at the forum. While Google converted most of the formatting, it was not 100% compatible as formatting was off in some places and it did not support many of the styles used in Word.
