I just purchased a new HP Pavilion x360 Laptop that has Windows 11. It came with Microsoft 365 installed. I started the 30-Day free trial, but then I decided to purchase the Office 2021 Professional Plus Lifetime Product Key. When it installed, I was given the product key to copy. When it installed it never asked me for the product key, but then when I started Excel the first time after installing, I was prompted enter the product key. I tried to paste the product key from my clipboard, but it must not have been in my clipboard anymore. I have a screenshot of the product key, but now when I open Excel, it doesn't prompt me for the product key and I believe, I'm still running with Microsoft 365. Do I need to uninstall Microsoft 365 before I install Office 2021?

Thanks...
I actually used a 3rd option to uninstalls Microsoft 365.
Step 1) I started with the gear icon for "Settings".
Step 2) I clicked the "Apps" from the menu.
Step 3) I clicked the "Installed apps" which is the top option "uninstall and manage apps on your PC"
Step 4) I scrolled down to the Microsoft 365 app and clicked on the 3 dots, then clicked uninstall and answered questions for allowing changes etc.

Never mind.
I got Microsoft 365 uninstalled and now when I start up Excel, Word etc it shows me running Office 2021 at the startup screen.
Thanks for your help,
Duane
Hi Ddbgine,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I am Blessing, an independent advisor here and a Microsoft user like you.
Yes, you can uninstall Microsoft 365 and install Office 2021.
Follow steps to Office Professional Plus:
Step 1: Start an Office app, like Word, Excel ...
Step 2: In the Sign in to set up Office window, select I don't want to sign in or create an account (it's a small link at the bottom of the window).
Step 3: Enter your Office product key, without hyphens. If you don't have your key, see link to get your HUP product key using this link https://support.microsoft.com/office/f682c420-ed43-42d9-96e4-235dd7708848

Hope this helps!
I followed the instructions. Actually, I logged out and then there was an option to enter my product key instead of signing back in. After entering the product key, I restarted. When I got back in to Excel it asked for the product key again, so I entered it. Then I signed back in at the top of the screen.
It seems to be working, but when I start Excel and Word it still indicates Microsoft 365 briefly. Should I uninstall Microsoft 365 now?
