Hello i have recently started using onenote to take notes for my classes, however i enjoy using handwriting with my apple pencil and having it converted into text like i have with other apps. There is no “ink to text”, only a “ink to shape”

It says temporarily suspended due to new version of ios. I think something needs to exist and work before suspension :-) I use one note daily, never saw it. Fingers crossed hope we will see it soon

So I’ve bought an iPad, Apple Pencil ready for my last year in university and Microsoft are telling me I can’t use a key feature of my iPad with my note taking app of choice all because they have too much pride and want to wage a petty war against apple?

This is the definition of shooting yourself in the foot, it’s not going to make me buy a surface, it’s going to make me stop using Microsoft products. I’ll go elsewhere, simple as. Sort yourselves out Microsoft.

Thank you everyone for all the questions regarding looping handwriting and converting to TEXT.

I bought a Surface and new IPAD. I concur. If you work in corporate with high security and want to take full advantage of all the full feature set of SAAS from O365, then you will want to purchase a Surface Pro 8. I can not use Apple notes since it's not shared across our company.

More disappointed that Apple didn't explain this to me and just deferred the question to microsoft. Apple knows you loose that functionality.

I also know that I am not going to be foolish enough to keep this $2500 ipad if it can't do what I need it to do.

Thank you Microsoft for being so forth right by saying that this functionality only works with Windows 10 and 11.
