    Hi Raymond

Reply interested in your reply to the question about how to copy an old version of Office on to a new computer. I have a similar issue but the copy I have is Office Professional Plus 2013 which I bought when working (now retired). would your previous explanation work for that version as well. I want to change my aging laptop but the desktop I am looking at doesn't have a disc drive.

    Cheers Edwin

    Hello CM1 K,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am a Microsoft user just like you.

Since your new machine does not have provision for CD, you will need to copy Office plus 2010 to a USB drive and install on new machine from the drive.

    1. Insert Office 2010 CD into a computer with a CDROM and USB ports
    2. Insert USB drive into the computer as well.
    3. Open Explorer and browse to the CD ROM
    4. Select all of the contents and go to Edit > Copy
    5. Browse to the USB drive in Explorer
    6. Go to Edit > Paste
    7. When the copy is done, remove the USB drive and insert USB drive into your new machine.
    8. Run setup.exe

Remember that Office 2010 is a 1-PC license so you will need to uninstall from your old desktop first.

Please let me know if you need more assistance.
