    Hello Lewisvdw

Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.

A Microsoft (Office) 365 E3 license is a "business" subscription product licensed on a per user basis which includes a hosted Exchange account. There is no such thing as a one-time payment for an E3 license or any subscription based product for that matter. One-time payments only apply to "perpetual" licenses and the products would never be identified as '365.

The complete Microsoft description for an E3 license can be found at

    Microsoft 365 E3 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/e3?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

In short, whatever this site is trying to sell is not a legitimate product offering.

I agree with you. This looks like a scam. The page is a mess. What it describes is a mish mash of products.

    .

There is no onetime payment Office 365 Pro Plus. ALL 365 are by definition a "subscription" that has to be renewed yearly or monthly. There are 2 exceptions that I know of with 2 and 4 year spans.

    .

365 does allow you to install on up to 5 devices at the same time. But just below where it describes using 5 devices it says "Home & Student". Office 2021 Home and Student is a "one-time payment" version, that lasts until 2026. BUT it can only be installed on 1 computer at a time. You do have the right to transfer it to another computer.

365 E3 is an education license. It appears they will be giving you an email account to use this license. That is not the way Education licenses are supposed to be used. And like any other 365 license/subscription, it has to be renewed yearly, but by the school not the user.

So, if this is a 365 education license that you access using their email account it can be taken away from you at any time. Personally, what I expect is that they will let it expire, "at the end of the school year". But when you try to contact them for help they will be gone...

    .

You can also try submitting a question to MS on this page: https://partner.microsoft.com/en-US/support/?stage=1 to find out if they are a legitimate MS Partner company, and if the deal is legitimate.

    .

Just get a 365 Family subscription. Same price, has to be renewed yearly.
