I just changed my old PC for a Mac and I'm wondering if with the tools that come with the IOS I can do the same without having to purchase Microsoft Office?

Thank you.

While new Macs can run iOS apps, the iOS version of Office is woefully underpowered for anything but quick edits and on-the-go presenting.

The licenses for Microsoft 365 and newer retail versions of Office are platform-agnostic. You may be able to install your old version of Office on your Mac. Using your Mac, visit your Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page, find your version of Office and click on the Install link on the right side of the page. If the installer that is downloaded is a Mac installer, run it and you're good to go.

If you have an Office 365 license:

    • Some of them permit installing on up to five computers; you can install to your Mac as well as to your PC.
    • Some licenses only permit installing to one computer, but I *think* you'd be able to remove Office from your PC (on your Office account page), then install to your Mac.

Otherwise, it'll sort of depend on what you want to do. Keynote, which comes with the Mac, is a very capable program for producing presentations. It does some things better than PPT, some things not so well. The biggest issue with it is that it's not available for Windows, so if you need to share a presentation with a Windows user, you'd need to export to PowerPoint format, which I keep hearing is good but not perfect.
