How can I go through and check all the spelling errors in a document?

Since Microsoft Word now uses Editor, rather than spellcheck, correcting spellings seems to be much slower. I start correcting spelling and grammar, but after each correction it opens the 'Editor' sidebar and displays the current Editor Score, rather than moving on to the next suggested correction. Is there a way to disable this, and just go through all the spelling mistakes? Having to re-select spelling corrections each time seems totally unnecessary.

Charles Kenyon has a web page at http://addbalance.com/word/spell_check_dialog_instead_of_editor.htm#PageStart that explains how to use the old spell check instead of the Editor.

Hello, I am Leonielhou, an Independent Advisor and a user like you, I am happy to help clarify any questions you may have.

In Microsoft Word, you can disable the Editor pane and have it not appear after making corrections. Here's how to do it:

    1. Click on the "File" tab in the top left corner of the Word window.
    2. Click on "Options" in the left side menu.
    3. In the Word Options window, click on "Proofing" in the left side menu.
    4. Under the "When correcting spelling and grammar in Word" section, uncheck the box next to "Show Editor pane"
    5. Click "OK" to save the changes.

This should disable the Editor pane from appearing after making spelling corrections. You should be able to go through all the spelling mistakes and make corrections without the pane appearing.

That doesn't seem to be an option - I unchecked the "Check grammar and refinements in the Editor pane" box, but it still appears for spell checks.
