Math Assistant missing in OneNote but available in OneNote for Windows 10

I have a family Office 365 membership and also get free Office 365 from my university. The Math Assistant in the Windows 10 version of OneNote is super helpful but for some reason it is not available on the regular OneNote. I use it to create graphs and show problem solving steps all the time. In regular OneNote I can just use Ink to Math and that's basically it.

Is it supposed to be this way or am I doing something wrong?

I have the same issue. Every article I've searched, none of the workers know how to fix the issue, and they all respond incorrectly because they don't understand the issue.

OneNote 10 has all of the features. OneNote 365 is missing a ton of features, and Math Assistant, although shown from the ribbon, is still not available due to being greyed out. Stick to 10 until 365 can catch up outside of looking prettier. The workers here won't be able to help. In fact, they rarely help on any tech issue I've ever searched up.

I had to customise my ribbon to find it but once I did, it is greyed out and it won't let me use it. What should I do next?

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Didn't realize there were two One Notes - I only know the one that came with my Office (365?) subscription years ago. And finding the "Math" function has been killing me. Esp. since the online help articles say it's specifically set up for ON for 365...

Hello there, sorry to hear you are having the same issue.

I called Microsoft and even had them remote into my computer, they could not fix it, they promised me a callback within a few hours and it has been weeks lol. I'm really annoyed but what can you do.

Yeah it sucks. I personally want to use ON 365 for desktop just because it looks prettier, but it's just lacking too much. I private messaged Mike Tholfsten yesterday, and hopefully he can give a response. I noticed that he will often post videos on YouTubs about new update capabilities, but my updated version 4 months later still won't have it. It's a huge mess.
