Powerpoint Android App Doesn't Play Trimmed Videos (Plays the whole file)

Hello, I trimmed some videos on PowerPoint on my PC, but I'm thinking of connecting my phone via

USBC->HDMI to a projector for the actual presentation. However, I notice that trimmed videos aren't played properly on the Android app. Everything else in the presentation is fine, except trimmed videos where the app plays the full video from the beginning instead of leaving out any trimmed bits.

I ended up manually trimming the videos and putting them in. Doable but if someone didn't know that the PPT trimming is lost on the Android version it could mess up their presentation if they make the PPT on a desktop and cast it from their phone during the presentation (which is what I do, via a USB C to HDMI adapter)

Thank you John - I tried this... unfortunately the video quality became pretty heavily affected too!

As a workaround IN THE DESKTOP version, using a COPY >File> Info and choose Compress. This will remove the trimmed areas.

    Hello

I am Abdal and I would be glad to help you with your question.

It seems like there may be an issue with the PowerPoint Android app playing trimmed videos. One potential workaround you could try is to save the trimmed videos as separate files and then insert them into the PowerPoint presentation as individual clips. This way, you can be sure that the app will only play the parts of the video that you want.

Another potential solution is to try converting the trimmed videos to a different format that may be more compatible with the PowerPoint Android app. For example, you could try converting the videos to MP4 format, which is widely supported on many different devices.

Finally, you may want to check for any updates to the PowerPoint Android app to see if the issue has been resolved in a newer version. You can do this by going to the Google Play Store and checking for any available updates for the app.

    I hope this information helps.

    Regards,

    Abdal
