Can I type on slides during the presentation to add audience answers?

Hello -

Now that many of us are lecturing virtually, it would be great to be able to type audience responses on to my slides in real time during the presentation. I know how to annotate with a pen, but cannot find a way to insert editable text boxes or type directly on the slides. Can this be done, and if not, can it be a feature that Microsoft works to add?

I am using PowerPoint for Mac version 16.69 via 365.

Thanks!

Ted

You could run the slide show (Slide Show > Set Up Show) in an individual window and then share the desktop in Teams.

Well that is unfortunate. Is there an easy way to incorporate a white board or sticky notes along side a powerpoint presentation using Teams? Not quite the same as typing on slides, but at least allows for real time compiling of audience suggestions/answers to posted questions. I know there are 3rd party Q&A programs that allow for texting replies, but I want to be able to type in information shared during an interactive conversation.

    Appreciate the help!

Sorry, that's not possible in PowerPoint for Mac. In the Windows version, you can add ActiveX textboxes to slides using the Developer tab, but those depend on Windows-only OLE technology and they don't work on a Mac.

To make a suggestion, click on the "Person with speech bubble" icon in the upper right corner of the program window. Choose I have a suggestion. You can post your idea there, and others will have a chance to vote on it. Microsoft uses this feedback to prioritize their programming.
