I also got a call from this number, but the caller claimed to be a representative of microsoft and he would answer to my support request I made. How can I be sure that an agent calling under this number is a real representative of microsoft? How microsoft contacts me in case of a regular support call?

    Thanks for your information.

    Dear Anita Bains,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, I understand that you "received a call from 0012064299176 who rang you several times saying that your card is no longer working, and they may ask you details for your billing card details or account credentials.

Thank you for reaching out to us for this issue. Microsoft will never call you proactively to provide unsolicited PC or technical support. If you get a phone call from Microsoft or see a pop-up window on your PC with a fake warning message and a phone number to contact to have your "issue" addressed, it's recommended that you avoid clicking any links or providing any personal information.

If you get a call like this, it's a scam, and you should just hang up and n ever call the phone number shown in the error message. A phone number to contact is never included in real Microsoft error messages.

If you believe you have been the target of a technical support scam, you can help Microsoft stop cybercriminals by reporting it.

For other concerns, please do not hesitate to add you post in the Microsoft Community Team.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

    Sincerely,

De Paul | Microsoft Community Moderator

It's a scam. Microsoft never makes such phone calls.
