    I use Outlook 365

    Do you mean Office 365?

Just to be sure we're on the same page (or in this case, slide):

PowerPoint doesn't animate slides, it animates *shapes* on slides.

Have you clicked on a shape to select it before trying to add an animation?

I wouldn't spend a lot of time on the Independent Advisor's suggestions. Thy are very unlikely to be the answer.

    Hello

I am Abdal and I would be glad to help you with your question.

To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:

    Go to File > Options.

    Click on the "Advanced" tab.

Scroll down to the "Display" section and look for the "Use hardware graphics acceleration" option.

Uncheck the box next to "Use hardware graphics acceleration".

    Click OK.

    Restart PowerPoint.

Go back to File > Options, click on the "Advanced" tab, and check the box next to "Use hardware graphics acceleration".

    Restart PowerPoint again.

This should resolve the issue and allow you to use animations in PowerPoint. If the issue persists, you can also try updating your video drivers or reinstalling PowerPoint.

You can also refer the below thread where similar issue is discussed. https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/523e2a50-1a37-4b35-9a91-ef17b82371b1
