How do I migrate all of my files from OneDrive Personal to Business?

I recently transitioned from Microsoft 365 personal to business. I have tried to move all of my files from my OneDrive personal to my new OneDrive for business but have run into a problem.

I transferred some of the files simply by cutting and pasting them and that worked well for smaller folders. However, I have one larger folder that is causing me problems.

OneDrive Personal indicates that the folder is 523 Gb and contains 8,543 files. in 768 folders I used the app.mover.io web app to attempt to transfer the folder but the resulting folder in OneDrive Business is 324 Gb and contains 3,699 files in 768 folders. So I am missing something but it's way too much work to figure out what I am missing.

I need to find a file transfer option that will actually move all the files.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

    Dear Rod Bergen

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, it seems that you want to migrate all files from OneDrive Personal to OneDrive for Business. But when you use app.mover.io web app to do this action, it seems that some files are missing.

In this scenario, first, we recommend you back up your files to avoid data loss before moving files to OneDrive for Business. You can save to other location, such as your local drive.

Then, we suggest you re-moving your personal files to business via the steps in below article

Migrate data to my Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

And noticed that: If you’re moving a large number of files, we recommend that you move files in batches of no more than 100 files each.

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that. We’re looking forward to your reply and will continue to help you all the time!

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Stacey | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hello,

I'm a NENCU [Non-Expert Non-Certified User]. Recently, I had a similar experience. I ended up splitting my larger folders in to 200GB unique sub folders. Took a bit of time; unfortunately, the only other way that I know, is to DL from OD Personal, a zip to C:/ ... extract it; then upload to OD Business. Awful use of time & bandwidth.
