How can I put all my files in a sensable order when Microsoft does not?

I write every day making new documents.

So there is one I was writing earlier today and I want to go back to it.

So how can I find it because I cannot.

Shows a file crated in the last day or two, then a file in November, than a bunch of files made in July but I cannot find a file I made today.

I write documents everyday-definetly more than one a day. So where do I find all the Word Documents I nmade in the last ten days because I do not seewhere any of them are.

I hate One Drive and try to use it as little as it can. I just get tired of one size fits all-we need to compete with Google Grive and other companes so now you have one drive and Microssoft s now going to force as many of its customers to use it even when you do not want to. I don't understand why we have libraries and finding multiple places that has its framework arttached to for no good reason as far as I am concerned. I have five locations for pictures-and we need this because??

Whaat I a tryng to figure out, if yountake wat was once very easy to manage, ot hard to figure out-So does Microsoft make it complicatted so we think we are getting our money's worth? maybe it is time for me to rethink why I need anything from Microsoft anymore.

I am trying to think if there is a product for Microsoft that does not have a peer competitor-usually for free by the way.

Thank you in advanced-I am a bit frustrated so I apologize for venting here.

Microsoft is NOT forcing you to use OneDrive!!

Under File>Options>Save, check the box for Save to Computer by default and then set the Default local file location.

If you do that, unless you change the folder in the Save dialog, it will into the Default Local file location that your documents will be saved and you can then sort them by date in that folder if desired.

    Hi Daveeeeeeeeeeee!

This may be that the default location for File storage may have been changed to OneDrive and this can be restored to the default.

To do that, please do the following:

    1. You may need to turn OFF the Auto-saved button if it is ON, once turn OFF, you would have the opportunity to select any location of your choice to store the file. Also, you can set the default location of the computer:
    2. -Click File > Select Option> Select Save in the left pane of the dialog box> select "Save to computer by default"

To be able to see your recent document: -Click File menu> Check file under the recent document

However, if you cannit find it, then: -Go to the drive> Use the search everything bar in the drive and type the name of the file> Press Enter.

-Click on the recent> Click on the Modified tab> Select "New to Older", This should display the most recent files.

Lastly, you can also, do this, to keep your files both on the PC and on OneDrive: Create a folder on the PC> Try to save your files on the Folder> Then you can upload the folders to OneDrive or synchronize it, This will help to access the folder quickly when needed.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru
