How do I get the Word Yearly Calendar templates to change from 2022 to 2023?

I have been using one of the Calendar Templates in Word for the last few months. However when I went in to New Templates and opened the same design up to set up one for this year (using the Create button) it automatically defaulted to 2022, and I cannot see any way to amend this to the current year.

I am using Microsoft Office 365 and am on Windows 10.

I cannot see anything in any of the toolbars/tabs which will enable me to get this to change. The Edit function appears to let you change the text but not reset the dates to the correct days.

I would have thought that if they don't want you to mess with the template they would have put the 2023 one out by now.....

    Somebody at Microsoft goofed.

Clearly, these calendar templates should all contain macros that ask for the year and then arrange the dates correctly. A template that contains macro code must be saved as a *.dotm (macro-enabled) template file. The templates that you can download from the File > New page now are all *.dotx files, which cannot contain macros. That makes them useless unless you really need last year's calendar!

I'll report this, and you can too, by going to File > Feedback > Send a Frown. It will be someone's job at Microsoft to resave the templates with code as *.dotm files.

Meanwhile, follow the suggestions in Charles's post for this year's calendar.

Which specific calendar template are you using? Most of the ones shown in the File > New page when you search for "calendar" do have a macro that updates each document to any year you choose, either automatically or from a "Calendar" tab that the template adds to the ribbon.

It's possible that Microsoft's latest efforts to prevent malicious macros has blocked your template's macro from running. If that's the case, the information at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/security/internet-macros-blocked#macro-enabled-template-files-for-word-powerpoint-and-excel may help.

    Hi Jay

Its the "Modern Calendar with Highlights" but I did try various others and the problem seems common across them all.

Many of the templates on the Microsoft site look nice but are not all that helpful. I expect they will update them, but you can expect it will take a while.

Take a look at Calendar Maker Add-In by Greg Maxey or the 2023 Calendars on Jay's download page.
