    Quite a lot of access users just run sql statement without forms and reports as far as I know.

    I wonder where you get that knowledge. In my experience its just the opposite. If someone is familiar with SQL, they are less likely to use Access just as a data depository. The ACE is the weakest component in the Access stable. The strength of Access is in its ability to create full fledged applications, interface, automation, reporting.

    It doesn't look like sqlite has any app development features such as forms, reports, and VBA. My impression is sqlite is similar to many other database engines that can store data for front-end development tools.

    What makes you think Access Desktop is being replaced? It's still very much a live product.
