Some Powerpoint slides randomly become uneditable

Hello,

I have PowerPoint v16.70 for Mac, and sometimes part of some slides become uneditable. The only thing I can do is to remove the content of the slide and create it from scratch. The problem seems to occur randomly.

Do you have any suggestions as to why this problem occurs and how I can avoid it?

Here is an example (note that the upper part is still editable): Link removed

Thanks for the support!

    Hello,

Thanks again for your answer, however I do not think this is the problem: a detail I did not mention is that I work with the Autosave feature On. So, just to recap:

    • I created the pptx file several months ago
    • I worked on it with the Autosave feature on
    • I used it in my class (just presentation)
    • I opened it again now after several months to make some changes
    • I found that some content is no more editable.

All this using PowerPoint for Mac v16.70 (so desktop).

    Thanks again!

The file was opened only in PowerPoint, however I have also OneDrive running and the file is in a synchronized folder.

Thank you for your answer. The point Is that I did nothing to convert the content in a picture or whatever it is. I just opened the file I created some months ago, and the content was no more editable.

    Thanks again.

There's nothing random about it :-) The Title Placeholder on the sample you provided is fully editable.

The other content, however, is a Picture, not an editable Text Box or Text Placeholder. If you double-click the object the Format Picture task pane will pop up. Any other problem slides in the presentation file probably are constructed in the same manner.

Are you using PowerPoint on line or do you use a desktop version of PowerPoint?

If you are using a desktop version, what version do you use? To find out, use the Menu Bar and choose PowerPoint > About Microsoft PowerPoint.
