Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to customize keyboard shortcuts on PowerPoint?

I came across the following article but this way is only available on Word and not on PowerPoint:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/customize-keyboard-shortcuts-9a92343e-a781-4d5a-92f1-0f32e3ba5b4d

How do I assign customized keyboard shortcuts to certain actions on PowerPoint?

Really appreciate the help!

Hi Bambi and thanks for your answer!

Unfortunately, this way is only available on the Word app. On the PowerPoint app, when I get to the “customize ribbon” menu, there is no “keyboard shortcuts” button.

    Is there another way?

    Hello Peleg D,

I’m Gunasekar and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you.

This feature "Customize keyboard shortcuts only works on Word for Microsoft 365 Word 2021 Word 2019 Word 2016 Word 2013 Word 2010 editions". The best you can do (without an add-in) is to add commands to the Quick Access Toolbar. If an icon is in the 5th position from the left, Alt + 5 will activate it.

To customize keyboard shortcuts on PowerPoint, you will need to use an add-in : OfficeOne Shortcut Manager 8 for PowerPoint. This issue was already discussed in a similar thread,

(You can also download the add-in separately from their official website)

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll be glad to assist you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N

Of course - I use Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise and this is my PowerPoint version:

    Microsoft® PowerPoint® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2301 Build 16.0.16026.20002) 64-bit

    Fingers crossed that there's a way :)

Thank you for your response. May I know the version of PowerPoint you are using? Also your Office version?

    Hi Peleg,

Thank you for posting on the forum today. I’m Bambi.

    You can try these steps:

Go to the "File" menu, select "Options", and then select "Customize Ribbon" or "Keyboard Shortcuts."

From there, you can modify the existing shortcuts or create new ones.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need additional clarification.

    Best Regards, Bambi
