Can you help me enable the presenter view?

My powerpoint doesn't display the presenter view, even though I'm selecting the option. For my presentation, I don't need the second monitor, I just share my screen while presenting online. Do I really need another monitor so that I can use this function? If so, I should try to find another way to see the next slide and my notes while presenting.

    A) Ignore Gunasekar's reply

    B) Ignore MOST replies from so-called Independent Advisors

    C) Press ALT+F5 to start the screenshow on your computer.

Nguyen My Dung, just now I understand that you are trying to enable presenter view on a laptop without the secondary screen, sorry for the misunderstanding.

So, if you right-click during a slide show is there not an option to show presenter view?

Also, try Fn+ALT+F5 shortcut key combinations and check the outcome.

    (OR)

    • Use Win+P keyboard shortcut to bring up the (Connect to projector) window.
    • Click the "Extend" option.
    • Open your presentation in PowerPoint, choose "Slide Show" | "Set Up Show," choose the slide show to appear on monitor 2, and then tick the "Show Presenter View" box before clicking OK.
    • Start the slide show now. While PowerPoint would happily believe that the slide show is being displayed on the second monitor, the presenter view will be on your laptop.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll be glad to assist you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N

    Hi,

I'm Sneha and I'd be happy to help you out with your question. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

If you're not seeing the Presenter View even after selecting the option, it's possible that your computer might not support this feature or that there might be an issue with your PowerPoint installation. However, you don't necessarily need a second monitor to use Presenter View.

    Here's what you can try:

    1. Try updating your PowerPoint to the latest version to ensure that you have the most recent features and bug fixes.
    2. Check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Presenter View. You can find the system requirements on Microsoft's website.
    3. Check if you have multiple displays enabled on your computer. If you do, try disabling the additional displays, and then check if Presenter View works.
    4. Try using the Alt+F5 shortcut again, but make sure that you are in Slide Show mode when you press it.
    5. If none of the above steps work, you can try using Presenter View on a different computer or device to see if the issue is with your current setup.

If you still can't get Presenter View to work, there are other ways to view your notes and the next slide while presenting. For example, you can print out your notes or use a separate device to view them. Alternatively, you can display the next slide on your screen by placing it next to the current slide and hiding it when you're not ready to show it yet.

If you have any other questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm here to help to the best of my ability.
