When full justification fails to work, the most common cause is that the document contains multiple single-line paragraphs rather than multi-line paragraphs.

Full justification will not work with single-line paragraphs.

See the screen shot below. I have displayed nonprinting marks and you can tell by the paragraph marks (¶) which multi-line paragraphs are truly multi-line paragraphs.

Not a screenshot, but an actual Word document with the problem, please.

The suggestion that the document has single line paragraphs, and that is the reason why the Justify command does not work is not helpful inasmuch as I had tried the Justify command on a single paragraph, and it did not work. Could someone please go into the system and enable the Justify command? Thanks.

Are you running a full version of Word under Windows or Mac OS? Or are you running some other version?

What do you see when you display nonprinting marks?

If you are saying that the Justify command is grayed out, the document may be protected in some way. In such a case, usually you would see other restrictions as well.
