Table renaming

When I create a table in Excel, a default name is added to that table. If I rename that table, for more clearness, the old (default) name is still present and appears when I select the table. The new name is visible in the Name Manager, but I want to get rid of that old name.
How do I do that?

If you created the new name by typing it in the name/address box on the left hand side of the formula bar, or by clicking Define Name on the Formulas tab of the ribbon, you have created a named range, instead of renaming the table. You may want to delete that name in Name Manager before proceeding.

To rename the table, click anywhere in the table, then activate the Table Design tab of the ribbon. In the Properties group, you'll see a Table Name box. That is where you can change the name of the table.
