Default Connector is a line for a process flow???

Can someone please explain why each time I need an arrow in my "process flow diagram" the default connector is a line? Why was this change made?

It is painful for those of us using this application to create process flows. By forcing a line as the default you have added anywhere from 5 to 10 hours of work.

Yes I know I can hit CTRL D once I change the line to an arrow (through the shape styles) and create multiple ones, but but I should not have to even do that. I should be able to use an arrow as default if I want to.

Please correct this to reduce time for us. Clearly the decision to change this was not done by anyone who actually uses this tool for process flows.

    Dear respected TBDoc,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, yes, the default Connector is a line for a process flow in Visio. And I guess the default behavior change by Microsoft product Visio development Team.

However, based on my test you can change default connector style by editing "Dynamic Connector" master in the document stencil.

via click-on-click Developer tab (If you can find Developer tab, please click File>Options>Customize Ribbon>select Developer>OK.)>tick Document Stencil. After that, you should see the Dynamic Connector>Right-click Dynamic Connector>Edit Master>Edit Master Shape>click Line>Arrows to select the arrow style you want>close the editing window (NOT the application - use the smaller X at the upper right). You should be prompted with a message like "Update 'Dynamic Connector' and all of its instances?" Click Yes.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
