Hi there

How to recover an OEM copy of MS Office on a Windows 10 laptop, after formatting and reinstalling Windows from a Flash drive?

(It had a perpetual license, without any need to pay monthly or annually).

Thanks.

Hi, yes, Office 2010 is no longer supported. If you still need to install this version, you'll need an Office 2010 installation disc and a product key for the version you're trying to install.

For reference to the instructions provided. You may check this link. https://support.microsoft.com//office/1b8f3c9b-bdd2-4a4f-8c88-aa756546529d

I hope this answered your question.

    Hi Myk,

So, if it was Office 2010, then it cannot be recovered after formatting, and I need to buy a new license, right?

    Thanks.

Hi, what version of Office do you have? It should be associated with the Microsoft account you used to activate it. You might be logging in with a different email which is why is not showing.

If this is Office 2010, the only way to reinstall it is through the installation CD and a product key.

    Best Regards, Myk

    Hi @Myk

    • I do not see my Office listed on https://account.microsoft.com/services/, instead, it is asking me to pay for the Office subscription.
    • The OEM Office copy I had before formatting was without any annual or monthly payment. Where can I download it without paying and see if my laptop accepts it without a product key?

    Thank you.
