    Hi Stan,

I'm thinking there may be some information you have left out. What version of Office is your product key for? Your product key is good only for a specific version of Microsoft Office. It will work as long as you install that version of Office on a version of Mac OS on which it runs.

    Hi

    So far, so good!

You need to activate Microsoft Office before it will let you edit and save documents:

    ACTIVATE MICROSOFT OFFICE

Stand-alone perpetual license: Activate Office for Mac - Microsoft Support

Office 365 subscriber: Activate Office - Microsoft Support

    Hi Stan,

After installing a current version of Microsoft Word you will find the Application in the Mac OS Applications as

    Microsoft Word.app

There was a time when Microsoft put all the Office apps into a single folder, but that is no longer the case.

    Dear Gunasekar,

    Wow! That was quick!

    Very kind: thank you.

Ok: Microsoft has acknowledged the purchase with the complicated code: Product Key: *****-

I have run the installer twice and have it on my desktop. There seems to be no problem there.

I have an old Word programme in my Apps and displaying on my sidebar, but that programme will not let me create or edit and wants me to activate a subscription.

I'm sure the answer as to where the new version is lodged is very simple, but I am a Grand Old Man and very, very pre-digital.

With thanks again for your attention.

    Yours,

    Stan Jones
