Can you delete drafts without deleting the original email?

Is there a way to delete a draft without deleting the incoming email? There is no way to delete just the draft. It even sits in my normal inbox as "From [my name]" with nothing in the body, subject, or receiving addresses. It isn't in my drafts, it isn't in sent, it isn't anywhere but my normal inbox. When I open that email there is no separation of the draft or actual email. There is no way to return the original email to being a normal received email. If this is user error, can someone please point me to the right direction because this is extremely extremely frustrating as I shouldn't lose emails because I decide not to respond to them. If this was intended, might be one of the worst design overlooks I've seen out of Office, genuinely shocking how bad this is.

    Hello Anonymousgz,

Thanks for contacting us, my name is Akande and i'm pleased to help with your request, Unfortunately, it is not possible to delete a draft without also deleting the original email in most email clients. This is because the draft and the original email are essentially the same email, and deleting one will also delete the other.

However, there may be some workarounds that you can try:

-Move the original email to a different folder: If you move the original email to a different folder, it should no longer be associated with the draft in your inbox. You can then delete the draft without affecting the original email.

-Save the original email as a new email: If you want to keep the original email but get rid of the draft, you can try saving the original email as a new email. Most email clients have an option to save an email as a draft or template, so you can create a new email using the original email as a template and then delete the draft.

-Use an email archiving tool: Some email archiving tools allow you to separate drafts from original emails and manage them separately. You can try using an email archiving tool to manage your emails more effectively.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or if you need more assistance.

    Regards, Akande.
