How to hide or change the name of the "Unassigned items" bucket in a SharePoint board view

Hi,

I have a SharePoint list with a board view grouped by one of the column.

The board view is always shown with an "Unassigned items" bucket, even if it has no items.

There are two possible solutions that I think can solve the problem:

  1. To hide the "Unassigned items" bucket.
  2. To change the name of this bucket, so instead of one of the column options, I will use an empty value.

I couldn't find a way to apply any of these solutions.

Here is an example of the board view. Instead of "Unassigned items" I would like to have a "Working from the office" Bucket (with no empty Unassigned items).

    As per your description, it seems that you want to hide or change the "Unassigned items" bucket in a SharePoint board view list.

    If my understanding is right, we've done some research and tests on our side, we're afraid that there's no out of box way to remove or edit unassigned bucket in the first place of the SharePoint online board view list currently. We've found that there is some feedback for the ability to modify a Board view has been marked as thinking about by Microsoft product team based on our research.

    Personally, I completely agree with you, this is indeed a good addition to the current features of List board view. It would be definitely ideal if we could remove or edit unassigned bucket in the board view.
