Hello Jim A,
Thanks for contacting us, my name is Akande and i'm glad to help with your question.
To insert a division function between two cells in Excel, you can use the forward slash symbol (/) in a formula. Here are the steps:
- Click on the cell where you want to display the result of the division function.
- Type the equals sign (=) to start the formula.
- Click on the cell that contains the numerator (the number that will be divided).
- Type the forward slash (/) symbol.
- Click on the cell that contains the denominator (the number that will divide the numerator).
- Press Enter to complete the formula.
For example, if you want to divide the value in cell A1 by the value in cell B1, you can enter the formula "=A1/B1" in a different cell.
If you need to reference cells in a different worksheet, you can add the worksheet name before the cell references separated by an exclamation mark. For example, "=Sheet1! A1/Sheet2! B1".
I hope this helps, Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards, Akande.
