I was overdue on my payment for 365 Personal

My card had expired and I hadn't updated payment method.

Payment was due 14 January 2023, I don't use Outlook email often and only used it

to register with Microsoft, this is where the reminder notices were sent.

I only found out when warning notices popped up recently when using Excel.

So, I went to payment page and managed, somehow, to update payment

method with a new card and made a payment for £59.99. However, this payment now

shows on my order history as being paid on the due date of 14 Jan 2023 with the

new card details.

I do now understand that there was an oustanding ammount due and this

should have been paid before updating payment method.. I can't find any

way of doing this now.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to explain.

Your payment was due on the 14th of January so when you added your new payment method, the overdue payment was paid.

Here are a few steps you can use to troubleshoot account warning:

Run the SaRA activation troubleshooter: Run the SaRA activation troubleshooter (https://aka.ms/SARA-OfficeActivation-Alchemy), and select the Office option. When prompted, select the option that best describes your situation.

Reset Microsoft 365 activation state Run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) to reset the Microsoft 365 activation state(https://aka.ms/SaRA-OfficeActivation-Reset)

Turn on Recurring billing and make sure your subscription is active: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Uninstall and reinstall Office 365.

Warm regards.

    Hello again Raymond K

I downloaded the program via your link https://aka.ms/SaRA-OfficeActivation-Reset and it seems to have done the trick.

No more warnings when I open Excel.

    Many thanks for your help.

    You're a star!

Thanks for your reply Raymond K

My issue is I must have incurred an overdue payment as payment

was due 14/01/2023 and I didn't pay until yesterday 04/02/2023.

However when I paid with the new card details the payment was

£49.99 + VAT £10.00 Total £59.99 for 1 year and the payment date,

according to my billing details, was 14/01/2023 despite paying

    only yesterday.

I am still recieving an account warning message when I open Excel.

When I click the "Fix" box it takes me to the payment page with the

authourization window and my card details but it is showing

    zero to pay.

My question is, have I incurred an overdue payment and if not

why am I still getting an account warning when I open Excel ?

    Hello Kev2019NA,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am a Microsoft user just like you, I hope you are doing well?

If the overdue payment has been made and your subscription is renewed and active, what seems to be the issue? Your Office apps should return to full functionality.

If you have renewed your subscription and you still get renewal notice then I recommend you run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Windows to identify and fix activation issues with Microsoft 365.

    1. Click link to download tool on PC: https://aka.ms/SARA-OfficeActivation-OF
    2. Install tool on PC. (Agree to terms)
    3. Select Yes to allow the app to make changes to your device.
    4. Follow the prompts to troubleshoot your Office activation issue.

    Looking forward to your response.
