There are issues with drawing on OneNote with my Wacom Drawing Tablet. Please Fix it!

I have stopped using OneNote for a while during my sch break. It worked perfectly fine with wacom drawing tablet before, but now there is this issue that is not allowing to take handwritten notes properly.

Take a look at the video here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mKwGXy5VhUl8C44Uig1fcqX2pI3I1IKQ/view?usp=sharing

Onenote will add in additional strokes on its on when I draw, joining the first point of the previous stroke to the first point of the current stroke. so if I try to write a '+' it will become a '4'.

There is nothing wrong with my drawing tablet and the driver as it works perfectly well with Microsoft whiteboard. I believe the problem lies in the app. Please fix this. Thanks!

I managed to resolve the issue after re-installing OneNote with this link: Install or reinstall OneNote for Windows - Microsoft Support.

Strange because it was working a few months before, but had some bugs when I used it again with my drawing tablet months later.

    Thank you so much!

    Dear Xav1029,

    Thank you for the reply.

If you search OneNote in the Windows search box, can you see the OneNote for Windows 10 application? If yes, you can try to draw in OneNote for Windows 10, will the same problem happen?

And you can also try to go to OneNote Online to see whether the same problem happens.

If the problem doesn't happen on OneNote for Windows 10 and OneNote Online, to check whether the problem is related to this version of OneNote 2016, you can try to switch to a new Windows User Profile. This method can rule out the possible reason for your current Windows User Account.

    Sincerely,

Hi! Thank you so much for the quick reply.

    1. Nope the problem does not occur with my mouse.
    2. I believe this in the latest version of OneNote.
    3. Here is a screenshot of my OneNote Product information at the bottom. Is it the latest one? I did try to download the latest version of OneNote but that involves downloading Microsoft office again, which I already have.

I also noticed that with the new Office 365 app, I cannot uninstall and reinstall onenote individually as it only shows 2 app, Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, and Microsoft 365 (Office) (see second image below).

    Looking for your reply. Thankyou!

    Dear Xav1029,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, when you draw on the external tablet which is connected with OneNote, handwriting will not display properly.

To narrow down the scope of this issue, could you please try the following to see the result?

    1. If you use mouse to draw in OneNote, will the same problem happen?
    2. From the video you provided, you use OneNote 2016. If you try to open and draw in OneNote for Windows 10(it is pre-installed in Windows 10 system), will the same problem happen?
    3. Please provide a screenshot of your OneNote Product Information(open OneNote>File>Account>capture a screenshot of the Product Information column).

    Appreciate your cooperation in advance.

    Sincerely,
