How do I prevent the date from changing when I am dragging the cell down. I want to keep the same date as I enter it in. Ex. I want to keep the dates the same when I am entering multiple entries in a column.

Alternatively, select all of the cells that you want that date to be in. Type the date and use Ctrl+Enter to enter it. Excel will place the same entry in all of the selected cells, and you don't have to worry about dragging it down.

    Does it have

    3/16/2023 180053
    3/16/2023 180053
    3/16/2023 180053
    3/16/2023 180053
    3/17/2023 184952
    3/18/2023
    3/19/2023
    3/20/2023
    3/21/2023

Do I have to start at the top of the row, because every time I do it, it changes the day of the date.=?

Copy one row with the same and then you can drag it down, it will keep the data.

Does it have to be in the format that you shared for the date? I tried the process that you shared with me, but it would not do it. I enter in data every day sometimes 3 or 4 times a day, so that is why I thought I shouldn't use the formula. I don't want the entire row to stay the same, just the days that I enter data.

    Here is my example:

    3/14/2023 185322 Sheetz #699

Put two same date then you can dragging the cell down with same date.

If you want to keep the some reference. You can use $E$1 to keep the same reference.
