On 'Freeze panes', click down arrow, there are only 3 commands—'unfreeze panes', 'freeze top row', and 'freeze first column'. 'Freeze Panes' command is missing so I am not able to freeze multiple rows or column. How can I handle this for a Mac - Monterey

As Amit explained, the Freeze Panes button & the Unfreeze Panes button are one in the same. Yours currently reads as Unfreeze Panes because Freeze Panes already is applied.

In order to apply the Freeze elsewhere you first need to turn the current Freeze off by selecting Unfreeze Panes [the labeling of the button will change to Freeze Panes], select the appropriate cell then turn Freeze Panes on again.

    Hi,

I am Amit, an Independent Advisor on Microsoft Support Community. For your security, please do not provide sensitive information such as product keys, passwords, email addresses and credit card information in this conversation.

Sorry about the issue, I will try and help.

    • I am using Excel 365 on Ventura, so it’s a little different from what you said the way ‘Freeze Panes’ button appears for you. But for me here, the same button changes to ‘Freeze Panes’ and ‘Unfreeze Panes’ when I click on it.
    • To freeze multiple rows (starting with row 1), select the row below the last row you want frozen and click Freeze Panes.
    • To freeze multiple columns, select the column to the right of the last column you want frozen and click Freeze Panes.
