Help with deleting files on Word for Mac

Hello!

I have Microsoft Word version 16.71 downloaded on my MacBook Air 2017. I am having trouble deleting documents off of word that are no longer saved on my MacBook. I have tried righting clicking and pressing delete and just about any other way. When I click on delete an error message pops up that says "Can't Delete File. This file may have been moved, renamed, or already deleted.". That error message is correct as I have already deleted the file by dragging it in the trash (the normal way to delete a file on a mac) but for some reason the document is still saved through Word. It will allow me to remove the documents from my recent list. I have tried deleted the file just by searching it through word and it still gives me the same error message. Please help as all of these documents are taking up an enormous amount of space on my Word app.

    Hi,

Sorry about the issue, I am a Microsoft products user like you are and will try to assist you.

I am guessing you are trying to delete the documents in the "Recent" list because they appear there even after you have deleted them from your Mac, right?

I delete remove them individually from the Recent list as well by right-clicking on them and selecting "Remove from Recent".

You can leave a Feedback for Microsoft by clicking on "Help" > "Feedback".

Let me know if this answers your question.

    Kind regards, Amit
