How do I import an Excel spreadsheet into OneNote ensuring the data in the spreadsheet is searchable in OneNote?

I need to import spreadsheets on a daily basis into OneNote. These spreadsheets have my comments drawn on to them in Excel, so I need these comments also transferred into OneNote with the spreadsheet. I can't add the notes into the spreadsheet after it's in OneNote as, due to team privacy, these notes cannot be seen prior to discussing them at daily meetings. At the moment I print to OneNote. However the spreadsheets come out blurry, and the data is not searchable in OneNote. I've tried using 'screen clipping' which keeps the data searchable in OneNote - but given I sometimes have the equivalent of 30 pages, it takes too long to screen clip each day. Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

I’m an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you and I'm glad to provide you information regarding your scenario.

Could you please follow below steps to insert a Excel Spreadsheet into OneNote?

If you create the excel first from OneNote and start editing after opening from the excel app,

    1. The added comments gets moved to excel spreadsheet and retained.
    2. The data added into excel can be searched

    Please refer the attached images

    To add an excel,

    1. Go to Insert on the Menu and select the Tables
    2. Click On "New Excel Spreadsheet"
    3. It will insert a new spread sheet on the OneNote page and if you double click on that, it will open the excel in new Window
    4. You can save and maintain the excel within OneNote.
