Sharing Excel file as PDF from Sharepoint

Good afternoon everyone, very new to Sharepoint and what it can do, looking for some help on sharing an excel file from Sharepoint.

We have an excel sheet we use for employees payroll, normally using the desktop version of excel we just save the worksheet as a PDF and email to an external Payroll company.

I am wondering is there a way from within Sharepoint to convert this file to a PDF and email directly to payroll without having to download the file, convert, send email and then upload the updated version back to the document folder?

Or is there another solution to create a document of some description online in Sharepoint and share as a uneditable doc to an external email.

Please assume I know nothing because actually I don't!!!

Many thanks in advance for any replies recieved

Regards

Stuart.

Dear Stuart,

Good day!!

Yes, you can save the Excel workbook as PDF from the Excel for the web via File> Print

However, this will download the PDF to your local PC but not store it in the cloud location.

It would be ideal if we can add this feature to SharePoint Modern experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You can send your feedback on our feedback web portal https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/. Our Product Team is constantly checking the comments and feedback from our customers to improve our product.

As a workaround, you can achieve your requirement by using Power Automate flow and I would like to suggest you post your concern in the Power Automate community to get detailed help from experts.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and thanks for your patience & understanding!!

Best Regards
