OneNote-how to color a section group or have a colored Icon to make it stand out from sections?

I want to be able to make the section group stand out like the sections by using tab that I can use a specific color or a special icon. Am using section groups because you can't see what is in a section unless you drill into it to see the pages. I want to see everything on the left hand side as well as the tabs on top. Having only the > to denote a section group is mundane and doesn't stand out. I am very visual and use colors to denote departments and each department has a group section.

    Dear L Musser,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Per your description, you want to make the section group stand out like the sections by using tab and use a specific color or a special icon in OneNote for Mac.

As far as we know, we're sorry and we're afraid there is no build-in feature can meet this requirement. Currently we can only color sections. We do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

Personally, I do understand your concern and completely agree with you. It would be definitely ideal if we can color section groups and make it stand out like sections in OneNote. This is indeed a good addition to the current features of OneNote and will be much more convenient to manage notes. Thank you for bringing thing to our attention.
