Is there a way to add notifications to Project Plan 1 MS Project for the web? Except the only two available in "Settings"

Hello!

I have a PP1 license for Project, and I would like to add notifications such as when a task is overdue etc.

The only notifications I find are these:

  1. In "Settings" the ability to enable notifications when someone assigns a task to me
  2. or when someone adds me to a project

Are there different features in PP3?

Thank you

Vangelis

Farantatos --

Microsoft Project desktop has no notification features at all. The notification features are found in Project Online or Project Server. Setting up a Project Online or Project Server instance requires skills, knowledge, and experience, as these two applications are very non-intuitive. If I were you, I would stick with Project for the Web and then patiently wait for Microsoft to expand the notifications functionality (if they ever do). Hope this helps.

Farantatos --

The article you cite is about notifications in Project Web App (PWA), which is the web-based user interface for either Project Online or Project Server. These are two entirely different applications from Project for the Web, which is the application that you are using. In Project for the Web, there are currently only two notifications available, which are the two that you point out in your original post. Hope this helps.

Dear Farantatos Evangelos,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, my understanding is that you would like to know if there are different notification features for different Project licenses.

If my understanding is correct, the function of the notification should be the same even if the licenses are different. At the same time, this feature mainly uses PowerAutomate for automation. So you can refer to the page to see the templates that combine Project and Outlook: Browse Templates | Microsoft Power Automate

Hope this will help you.

Sincerely,

Hello and thanks for your reply!

I am asking why I can't see the notifications in the article below and how to enable them if possible:
