    Hello again,

Sorry about this, thank you for the image.

From the image, this usually occurs when you either have a trial office on your device or maybe the present office on your device is corrupt.

Since you are using office 365, may I ask do you have other office applications on your device?

Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program and remove any other office on your device expect for Microsoft Office 365 apps.

Reboot your device, then run a repair on the office application: Repair office

    1. Right Click on Start > Select Installed Apps or Apps and Features
    2. Scroll down until you see Microsoft 365 Apps
    3. Click the three buttons beside the Microsoft 365 Apps
    4. Select Modify
    5. Click Online Repair (this will take a while to be done)
    6. Restart the device

You can also decide to remove all the office apps on your device and then download and reinstall the office apps.

    Hello Steve,

Thank you for coming to the forum.

I am trying to fully grasp the issue. Is it that, you cannot open excel files by double-clicking on them? and you can only open them when you go to open and browse to the file?

or the files only open from recent?

Can you give more details so we can understand the issue in full and assist you?

    Best Regards Fuad
