Powerpoint size not reducing

Trying to shrink a PP to under 10,000Kb to save in our Learning Management System but I cannot get it under 12K.

I removed all pictures and followed all the other steps indicated on the page below (file size actually increased from 11700 to 12600 after the steps!) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/reduce-the-file-size-of-your-powerpoint-presentations-9548ffd4-d853-41e7-8e40-b606bca036b4

There are now only text and shapes/smart art and only 18 slides!

Any advice GREATLY appreciated.

Do you mean 12KB or 12,000KB (12MB)? The minimum size for a blank presentation with most layouts removed is 21KB.

Some template designers will add photos to slide layouts, which makes a presentation have a permanently large file size. To check, choose View>Slide Master, check each slide layout and remove any photos or other content.

    Thanks Waqas,

Will send you the document via PM.

I have converted to PDF which solved the upload issue, but still very keen to understand how to solve this.

    Hi John,

Thanks for pointing that out, yes I obviously meant 12MB/12,000KB. I actually managed to shrink another presentation down to 8MB - and it is a longer presentation.

I have already removed all images from master slides.
