Can’t enter text in Excel cells

Yesterday all was well with Microsoft 365 Excel on my iPhone and iPad. Now today I cannot add or edit text in any cell of a spreadsheet. I have done the basics (restart, reinstall, etc.) but issue remains. I can enter a formula into a cell but not text (alpha or numbers). There is no problem with,Word.

    Firstly, let's check for any updates to ensure that you have the latest version of Microsoft 365 Excel installed on your device. Please go to the App Store, tap on your profile picture, and then scroll down to see if there are any updates available for Excel. If there are, please update the app and check if the issue persists.

    Next, please check your keyboard to ensure that it is working properly and that you have not accidentally enabled any settings that might prevent you from entering text. You can try typing in another app to confirm that your keyboard is functioning correctly.

    If the above solutions do not resolve the issue, it's possible that the cells you're trying to edit are protected. Please select the cells you're having trouble with, then right-click and select "Format Cells". Go to the "Protection" tab and ensure that the "Locked" option is unchecked.

    Additionally, if the entire worksheet is protected, you won't be able to enter text in any cell. Please go to the "Review" tab in the Excel ribbon, and look for the "Protect Sheet" button. If it is highlighted, click on it to turn off sheet protection.

    If none of the above solutions work, you can try resetting the Excel app. Please go to your device's Settings, then scroll down until you see "Excel". Tap on it, and then select "Reset Excel". This will reset the app to its default settings, but it will not delete any of your files.
