How can I prevent Microsoft Access from changing the relationship layout?

I am doing this for a school project but whenever I close it then reopen it, it becomes a mess as you can see in the image. I organize these so that they look neat and not overwhelming to use, as it might affect my grade. The way I organize these tables is that they are grouped into their category and each group are connected to each other, they are also spaced quite far from each other. I closed the relationship and also saved the layout. But when I opened it, it all compacted into this tight space. I have also found that reorganizing does not help at all. I tried searching online but I found no answers. Could someone please help me, I do not know what to do. I am using Access 2016 with the latest version of Windows Home.

Thanks for clearing that up.

If you are saving the layout regularly, that's about all you can do to preserve it.

I'm also curious, while I'm thinking about it. And this really is just curiosity. How often do you need to change the diagram in the relationship window? When designing a new relational database application, most of us properly visit it a lot, but seldom after the application goes into production.

I've been working with Access since 1994, using every version of Access from 2.0 through MS 365. I've authored or co-authored several books on MS Access in that time. I've recorded dozens of YouTube videos on Access.

However, in that 29 year career, I've never seen a version of Access with either of these options. In the interest of learning something new, can you provide a screenshot of your installation showing either the "Lock Layout" option, or the "Manage Layout" option you have mentioned, preferably screen shots of both?

I would hate to think that I've overlooked something so obvious in all those years.

My laptop is quite old so I suspect that my battery connector is loose or the battery itself is in bad condition. It would just shutdown abruptly at about any percentage you could think of. I have also saved the relationship by responding to the dialog.

    Hello,

No, my responses are not generated or coded by AI, they're just having professional tone inspiration by them as for global response I try to adapt more better tone and way of framing my response so that it won't affect anyone due to auto translation of my response. Regarding the options Not matching from your system it is common to have different options layout in different region, different version and different plans of MS Office, MS Access for mine I am referring to MS Access for Windows 10 Personal MS Office 2019, for more prices information and options you'll need to share information about your plan and version like MS Office Business or Personal and Office 2016, 2019, 365 etc.

Unfortunately, I don't have any further troubleshooting to offer for your issue it could be your system specific issue.

There are many knowledgeable users active on the forum and I hope that someone else can offer further insight on your issue.

    Thanks, Sneha

Sorry but this does not help me at all and has made me more confused. It seems to me that Manage Relationships and Layout Locking is not found in Access. Please send a screenshot if possible. It is also suspicious that you do not respond when someone asks where Layout Locking is. If anyone is reading this please do not follow the steps written by this badly coded AI, you are gonna waste your time like I did.
