Can I still buy and install Office 2016/2019?

I have an issue at work where EMG software will only write reports to a specific version of Microsoft Office and works best with Microsoft office 2016/2019. I've tried browsing the catalog for Microsoft Office products so that I can buy a license for Office 2016/2019, however I have only found the Microsoft 365 packages for purchase. The forum posts that I have found indicate that I should be able to buy a one time install license, which would be perfect, but I want to make sure that if I spend the money, I can get the 2016/2019 versions of Microsoft office.

Some clarity to help me make this decision would be much appreciated.

You won't be able to get Office 2016 or 2019 from Microsoft because the current perpetual-license version is Office 2021. If you buy from a third party, make sure you get a legal copy--not an OEM version or something "Professional Plus," which is a volume license that is not legal for individuals.

There is really no functional difference between Word from any of the Office applications from about Office 2010 onwards, when installed on the desktop. What issues do you run into when using either Word in Office 2021 or in Microsoft 365.

Expensive but if you buy Visual Studio Professional (?) this allow old version to be downloaded with valid licence keys.
