Reinstalling the calculator - and Windows Store?

There was a sudden fault with the Calculator app and I uninstalled it. There is nowhere I can go to reinstall it, which was my intention of doing. I'm apparently not having the Windows store, which had been one of the following apps I uninstalled way back when cleaning the computer from apps that were never used. However, that app shouldn't have been able to be uninstalled, and I was able to by a simple "uninstall this program" - as I remember it being.

I am unable to install either Calculator or Windows Store and I wish to know how I exactly can do that, now with them being gone?

Regards,

Oskar

    Hi,

I'm Taiwo and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, We are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

If you've uninstalled the Calculator app and you don't have the Windows Store, there are a few methods I can suggest to reinstall the app:

    Method One:

    • Open PowerShell as an administrator, by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Windows PowerShell (Admin)."
    • In the PowerShell window, copy and paste the following command and press Enter:

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsCalculator | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_. InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    • Wait for the command to execute. It should reinstall the Calculator app on your system.

    Method Two:

    • Download the Microsoft Store Troubleshooter from the official Microsoft website. You can search for "Microsoft Store Troubleshooter" in your web browser to find the download page.
    • Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions. It will automatically detect and fix issues related to the Microsoft Store and the Calculator app.

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards, Thank You.

Reinstalling the Calculator app, especially on Windows 10 or newer versions, often requires using the Windows Store because the Calculator app is now a Windows Store app. If you're facing issues with the Calculator or even the Windows Store itself, here's a step-by-step guide to reinstall them:

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Navigate to Apps > Apps & features.
    3. In the list, find Calculator and click on it.
    4. Click Uninstall. This will remove the Calculator app.
    5. Once removed, open the Windows Store.
    6. Search for Calculator.
    7. Install the Calculator app from the results.
