Paste special trouble with Microsoft Office 365 Excel

I currently am trying to use paste special for Microsoft 365 Excel version. However, I am unable to locate a paste special option in the home tab. Instead it is just paste formula, paste formatting, paste values. etc. but no paste special. I am currently using a MacBook with a windows keyboard paired to my mac as I wanted to get more familiar with Excels Alt shortcut keys however the paste special shortcut key (Alt+ES) has not been working and I have been unable to find the paste special option manually. Any advice would be helpful as I frequently would use paste special on the Excel version offered on the Apple Store.

Your keyboard is not the issue (as long as it is Mac compatible). Mac Excel does not support the ALT key shortcuts used in the Windows product.

Most Mac keyboard shortcuts are shown in the main menus adjacent to the commands they execute. E.g., the keyboard shortcut for Edit> Paste Special is Control+Command+V [^+⌘+v].

Also, note that the available Paste Special options depend on what was copied as well as the source from which it was copied.

    Hi CM_698!

If you did not see the "Paste Special" Option in the Home tab, check the "Edit" at the top of the screen

Please do this: * Select the cell or range of cells you want to paste. * Instead of looking for the "Paste Special" option in the Home tab, go to the Edit menu in the menu bar at the top of the screen. * From the Edit menu, scroll down and you will find the "Paste Special" option. * Click the "Paste Special" option to reveal a sub-menu with various paste options, such as paste values, paste formulas, paste formatting, and more. * Select the desired paste option from the sub-menu to perform the paste operation with the specific value or format.

Kindly let me know, if you require additional assistance, I will be glad to help further.

    Best Regards, Shakiru
